Some wise words from Dave Winer about product evangelism.
This is absolutely fantastic!
This week’s weight loss progress continues the steady trend towards my goal of losing 24.7% of my weight as of my starting weight in mid-July. As of this morning, I am down 12.3% – essentially at the half-way mark. I’m feeling great and not feeling like I am starving myself at all. I’ve simply just followed the WeightWatchers program and am eating different, healthier options. It’s actually been fun trying different proteins and recipes than we would have normally eaten. Weight loss is a team sport after all, and my family has been incredibly supportive and along on this journey with me.
The nice thing is that when I’m really in the mood for something like pizza or wings or BBQ, it’s totally okay to eat those – just not the whole pizza like I might have before. ? I am very determined to continue these healthy habits beyond my goal weight this time. No more yo-yo effect for me!
I am seeing very similar trends by trying to stick with as many zero point foods. My respiratory rate, resting heart rate, and walking heart rate average are all dropping like rocks. I guess I should have assumed that would happen, but I’m still shocked. Awesome stuff!
Another week into my weight loss journey is in the books, and I am happy to report I made some nice progress this week. I am now down just over 11% from my starting weight and am making slow, safe, and steady progress towards my 25% goal. Almost halfway through!
Check in next week for another update.
It’s curious that only Safari has the ability to share a link to the Apple News app. It’s not an option in Chrome, Firefox, or any other browser I’ve tried.
This is an important feature for me especially when trying to access links behind paywalls for which I have access via our Apple News+ subscription.
Is this just a missed feature for these other browsers? Has Apple not made this option available to other vendors? It would be a very odd limitation to intentionally enforce when the result is more use of the Apple News app.
Unfortunately, I do not have the luxury of only using Apple devices in my personal and professional lives so I would love to be able to standardize on one browser across platforms. Until I can pass links from browsers other than Safari to Apple News, I guess I’m stuck.
We put our Harris Walz sign in our front yard yesterday. I’m sure we’re already on somebody’s list, and without hesitation, we’re damn proud of it.
After my annual wellness check in mid-July, I decided enough was enough, and I committed to losing about 25% of my weight.
Just over two months into this journey, I’m down over 9%. I’ve settled into new habits and am seeing some great trends in the Apple Health app.
I post this here so readers keep me honest and on this positive path. I’ll update regularly going forward.
It’s been an up and down season for my Chicago Cubs, and while not technically eliminated from the playoffs, the Cubs would need to go 8-0 the rest of the way while the Diamondbacks, Mets, or Braves experience an epic collapse.
On the bright side, the team will likely end the season with more wins than losses, and the last game is a classic Wrigley Field afternoon game starting at 2:20.
It brings back great memories of the businessman specials back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. There’s nothing quite like the smell of a packed Red Line L train from the Loop to Wrigleyville in the hot summer months. Great times!
