  • I spent a little time this evening looking for protests, rallies, events, etc. to try to stop Congress from doing its job tomorrow, but it seems like there’s nothing happening.

Then I remembered that what happened four years ago was completely insane, unprecedented, abnormal, and in many cases, criminal.

That’s who we’ve elected, and I still can’t believe it and will not forget or forgive.

  • We’re really going to miss leaders like Jon Tester in the Senate. We need serious people in our highest positions, and he, undoubtedly, is a serious person.

  • President and First Lady Carter provided glowing examples of how people who have been in any position of power should spend their post-power lives – in service of humanity. To me, this includes political and corporate leaders.

Imagine the possibilities if all of those enriched by their positions contributed to society to the extent that the Carters contributed. What a wonderful world this would be.

Thank you President and First Lady Carter.

  • It seems like this shouldn’t even be a thing. I have to take compliance courses every year about gifts, bribes, and corruption, but yet here we are reading about corporations openly bribing the future president.

Regardless of party, this just should not be something that happens.

  • It is incredibly important for the health and safety of all Americans and citizens of the world that our health leaders are critical, skeptical, and questioning of the information they consume. That is what we should expect of scientists in charge of our most important agencies. That should be the bare minimum.

The more important skills for these leaders are reasoning and judgment. That is where Dr. Weldon’s history indicates that he falls short. Let’s hope for all of our sakes that the senators responsible for confirmation have these skills in abundance.

  • After seeing the mix of incompetent, unqualified, and, in some cases, dangerous people Trump plans to put in charge of government agencies, I would not have left my son’s fate in their hands either.

  • This is everything you need to know about Speaker Johnson’s leadership or, in this case, the lack thereof. Any person in a leadership position that intentionally blocks data or information from getting to decision-makers so they can make the most informed decisions with confidence is no leader at all.

  • I am confident that at some point in your life, your parents said something similar to “you are the company you keep.” I know I have said that to each of my kids at some point.

I bring this up in the context of the people the president-elect has nominated for key positions in the government that we all have to live with. None of them have adequate experience for their future position, and most are incredibly reckless even by the president-elect’s standards.

To be clear, if your senator votes to confirm these nominees, they are not representing you or their country. They are representing him, and we all will suffer the consequences.
