I know it’s been quite a while since my last post so I decided to write about my kids. Here’s a great picture of my little buddy. My wife took the picture one afternoon along with some great pictures of my daughter. I’ll post a great picture of her shortly.

Proposition This, Proposition That
Okay, so I’ve been meaning to blog about this for quite some time. Being a relatively new California resident, I have noticed that the California State Legislature tends to push all of the tough political decisions back to the people of the state. I’m talking about the proposition process.
A large number of propositions have made it onto the ballots since we’ve moved out here. These propositions represent very difficult decisions that should be made by well informed, professional lawmakers.
Based on my observations of California politics so far, these propositions usually turn into huge advertising opportunities for the special interest groups that represent each side of the issue. The result of the proposition comes down to which side had the most effective advertising.
Average voters do not have the time or expertise to make educated decisions about these propositions. The lawmakers in Sacramento should do the job of the people and make the tough decisions that will determine the future of the state. Deferring to the advertising muscle of special interest groups is no way to run a state.

Finally!
Okay, I’m sure many of you will think I’m a little wacky to be so excited about this, but I have some fantastic news to report.
We have finally found our camera!
Now that we’re back in business, we’ll be taking lots of new pictures, and I promise to post them as soon as I can. Stay tuned for new images.

New Liquid Soul!!!
Hi everybody! I just listened to Liquid Soul’s new album, One-Two Punch. It’ll take a few listens before everything sinks in, but I am very impressed so far.
For those of you that are not familiar with Liquid Soul, it’s a great band out of Chicago. When the band first came out, it was thrown in to the acid jazz category, but really, it’s almost impossible to pigeon-hole Liquid Soul into any genre. Their albums and live shows are a mixture of jazz, funk, dance, rap, rock, blues, latin, soul, R&B . . . the list goes on and on.
For long-time fans of the band, this latest album will seem like a logical next step in the band’s evolution. If you listen to their albums in chronological order, you can definitely notice a pattern.
One-Two Punch contains one of the coolest songs I’ve ever heard: Kong. None other than Vernon Reid from Living Colour sits in with the band on the track, and it really smokes. For me, this song alone justifies the price of the album.
Do yourself a favor and check out Liquid Soul’s latest work on iTunes.

I'm Back
For those of you who thought that I had fallen off the face of the Earth . . . I’m back! Yes, it’s been a month and a half since the last time I posted anything to my blog, and it’s been even longer since I posted anything new on my podcast, but at long last, the drought is over. Things have been pretty busy since the move, and we’re still working on finding all of our things. That includes our camera so unfortunately, there are no new pictures to share with everyone. Don’t worry, though. We’ve dedicated ourselves to finding that camera and taking a bazillion pictures. Now that the weather is coming around, we should be able to take some great shots of the ocean from the end of our street. I’ll post some new pictures as soon as I can. Keep in touch with me by using the contact page on my site, and I promise to keep the site more up to date. Until next time . .

Finally Moved
Well, we’re finally done moving out of our old house. It took a lot longer than we could have expected, but I guess it wasn’t so bad considering how busy we are with the kids, school, and work. Anyway, I’ll post pictures soon so you all can see our new place. I’ll also try to get some shots of the view from our street. We’re at such a high elevation that we actually have two views of the ocean.

DocBuilder.com Document Automation Challenge
My buddy, Scott Driza, started DocBuilder.com Incorporated back in 1999. Scott is a great programmer and has written several books and articles on document automation. He got me in to the document automation business while we worked together back in Chicago, and thanks to his initial push, I know a thing or two about programming. Right now, DocBuilder.com Incorporated is having a Document Automation Challenge. For between $10 and $50 per page, the company will automate any document in Microsoft Word. Check out DocBuilder.com for more information.
