The Department of Education’s decree that all schools must eliminate all DEI programs in two weeks is obviously not something that is possible. Who in their right mind does something to intentionally cause chaos in schools right in the middle of a semester? I don’t want to hear any bullshit from Republicans about how pandemic safety measures delayed learning while they’re willing to support chaotic and completely unnecessary orders about programs that have helped generations of Americans actually receive an equitable education. www.npr.org

Not working on Washington’s Birthday? Why not join a peaceful demonstration to voice your opinions of the new administration and what it is doing to our federal institutions?
Seems quite fitting for a day where we celebrate our first president and all he did to win our independence and all he did to set the standard for peaceful transitions of power from one leader to the next. www.npr.org

As a product professional, I will never understand the decisions Netflix has made in its support of each streaming platform. Go to where the users are. Embrace the platforms they’ve chosen for their homes. Provide a comfortable, consistent, predictable experience.
I know my family would discover and watch a lot more Netflix content if it integrated with the Apple TV app. www.macrumors.com

Let’s all hope that RFK Jr. is as ineffective at management as the Senate GOP is at leading. And, I’d like to correct the BBC’s copy. Replace the word “overhaul” with the word “destroy.” www.bbc.com

For the almost 8 billion other people around the world, these types of proclamations and decisions make Americans look like a gigantic bunch of baffoons. www.fastcompany.com

Wrong. The UK doesn’t have to respect anything about the Trump administration or the United States in general. Respect must be earned by being worthy of it. www.bbc.com

I was listening to the latest episode of Diggnation (which is back and awesome!) this morning, and the topic of digital currencies came up several times. This prompted a thought on how we talk about cryptocurrencies as “digital” currencies.
All currencies are “digital” at this point. Societies around the world have been using representations of state-backed currencies for decades now. I feel like it is more appropriate to discuss cryptocurrencies as “stateless” currencies. That’s the big difference between a state-backed currency and a market-driven cryptocurrency.
At the end of the day, all currencies are representations of perceived value. It’s up to you to determine which perceived value gives you most comfort and confidence.

This week’s The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart episode includes an excellent conversation with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Leader Jeffries delivers information in very understandable language. It seems to me that Americans need to hear more of him and others who can communicate a vision of a future accessible for all. www.podtrac.com
