Isn’t it wonderful that no one company controls the internet and can control speech? Isn’t it wonderful that there are protocols and formats like RSS? We don’t need Twitter. It had great potential, and I was an early adopter, but it is time for it to go away.

Serious questions for business owners . . . Do you stay on Twitter? Do you put banners on the top of your website and promotional emails so the public knows your true Twitter handle(s)? By what percentage do you increase your legal department’s budget?
It has dawned on me that all of the businesses that kept their email lists and newsletters alive through our social media experiment are the ones that will still be able to communicate with customers in the post-social media world.
I really feel for the product team(s) at Twitter. With the owner changing terms of service at least once a day, they must be insanely busy doing the one thing product people hate most: documentation.
